  • Important notes:

    • About Entering China with L visa for study
Students, who is planning to enter China with L visa (usually allowing stay of 30 days), should closely follow under-mentioned instructions, or it might cause trouble to both the student and Overseas Education College:

    • About visa on-arrival
Visitors from Japan, Mongolia and Singapore are allowed to stay in China for 14-30 days without any Visa, which is called visa on arrival.
However, it is impossible to convert visa-on-arrival into a residence permit here in Xiamen. Therefore, students should NOT come to Xiamen University this way, otherwise they might have to go back to their home country and apply for a new visa.

    1. send the completed application form to oec@xmu.edu.cn at least 15 days before entering China. In the blank of "remarks", please indicate that the student will come with a L visa. If it is approved by the college, you can begin your process of visa application.

    2. As soon as you arrive at Xiamen University, please go to Overseas Education College for necessary registration procedures. Remember to tell us your most efficient way of contact.

    3. Follow the normal procedures of applying for a residence permit.
