Fees

Tuition standards of different categories:

  • Chinese programs for short term study:

    • Eight-week Basic Chinese Class in May and June, 9000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

    • Four-week Oral Chinese Class in July, 5000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

    • Four-week China Study Program in July, 9000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

    • One week 2000RMB, 240RMB for registration fee;

    • Two weeks 3000RMB, 240RMB for registration fee;

    • An extra 1000RMB is charged for every more week.

    • More than 12 weeks, charged by the price of long-term Chinese program

    • Summer school:

      • Eight-week Basic Chinese Class in May and June, 9000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

      • Four-week Oral Chinese Class in July, 5000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

      • Four-week China Study Program in July, 9000RMB for tuition, 240RMB for registration fee

  • Chinese programs for long term study:

    • Long term Chinese program, 13,000RMB/semester for tuition, 400RMB for new student registration

    • Chinese BA, 26,000RMB/year, 400RMB for new student registration

    • MA, 60,000RMB for total tuition

    • PHD, 24,000RMB/year

  • 港澳台侨先修部:

    • 港澳台侨联考补习班,13000元/学期

    • 港澳台侨大学预科班:港澳台侨(预)科学生学费按同一年级、同一专业的大陆学生标准收取。


Cost listing (take long term Chinese for example):

  • Tuition: 26,000RMB per year

  • Registration fee: 400RMB for new students

  • Rents: 2000RMB per year in dormitories on Xiang'an campus, not including water, electricity and management costs.

  • Meals: About 600-900RMB per month, using XMU e-card in dining halls on campus

  • Textbooks: About 300RMB a semester, depending on courses taken

  • Physical examination: about 500RMB

  • Residence permit: 400RMB for RP less than one year

  • Insurance: Comprehensive Insurance for Overseas Students, 450RMB per year

  • Internet: 35RMB per month for broadband of China Telecom in dormitories

  • Roughly about 40,000RMB per year, a quite reasonable amount compared to other univerisities in China due to the low costs in dormitory rents and meals on Xiang'an campus.
